Craziest Question I've Ever Been Asked

I was at work yesterday pumping – they have a large restroom outside the fitness facility with a shower stall with a curtain, bench and power outlet set up for us. In walks a lady – obviously who I cannot see nor who can see me. She goes into a stall and I hear her ask “How much milk do you get out of those things?” Huh? Is she seriously talking to me? I have no clue who she is and I guess I didn’t feel like explaining my milk supply to 1. Most likely someone I don’t know and 2. Someone I cannot see and 3. Someone sitting on a toilet while I’m in the physical act of pumping.

Is that not insane! I can’t stop laughing about it. I did not answer her other than to hold back my astonished gasp.

Carolyn's New Do

I suppose it was bound to happen. Our sweet little long haired beauty gave herself a haircut. Wednesday evening she snuck out of her room and found the scissors. She came to our room with a handful of blonde hair. Oh, how sad. Her hair was down to the middle of her back. So straight and shiny. I couldn't believe it. As we pulled the hair off her pajamas and cleaned it from the floors she cried herself. Later if you ask her about it she'll tell you, "It was just an accident."

The next day after her bath I did my best to clean up the damage. As I was cutting, she told me "Mom, I don't cut my hair again." We left it as long as possible and even though I do miss her long hair, the new short cut is really cute.

SNOW DAY!!!

They've been calling it a blizzaster and snowmagedon, but we call it SNOW DAY!!! No school, no work. Just hanging out at home in the middle of the work/school week.

I made a valiant/stupid effort to get to work today. Backing out of the driveway at 6am, I figured if I could get to the road I would be good to go. Well, I made it to the road, the unplowed road. What! Staying in the ruts of previous vehicles I tested my snow tires on my FWD Flex (they work great). I passed a stuck minivan as I made my way to a plowed street. Shew! Should I turn around? What if I try and get stuck? Okay, I made it this far. I need to get to work. I only saw a dozen vehicles on the road, half of them stuck trying to get into/out of driveways and/or unplowed sidestreets. When I saw my backroads weren't going to be passable and was on my way to the bypass, I heard about an accident and decided I'd had enough fun. I turned around and headed home. Thank you Flex for getting us safely back into the garage!

So let the fun begin! Hank tried bananas and didn't like them (what? who doesn't like bananas?) and we found his jumper (loved it!) The girls decorated picture frames and helped my make butterscotch fudge bars. I ironed some clothes that have been sitting in my laudry room mocking me for months. And I even read a few pages of my book while cuddled in my Snuggie. Matt's outside now trying to clear off the driveway. Poor guy. This is some seriously heavy snow and he's clearing it all by hand.

Yeah, Hank's first snow day!

Yuck! Bananas!

Arts & Crafts Time!
