My Favorite Instagram

We woke up one weekend morning to a gorgeous day. I took my coffee and phone outside and captured my very favorite Instagram photo thus far. I wish Eleanor was in it, too.

End of Preschool for Carolyn

Carolyn asked Hank and I to join her on her end of preschool year field trip to the Potowatomi Zoo.

Carolyn had a great school year. She had a perfect final period report card and scored over a 90% on her Kindergarten Brigance test! Her teachers, Miss Fuller and Miss Shaner, just loved her. She loved them too, so much that she and her friend Audree cried as Miss Fuller left the room on the last day.

Tire Rack Field Trip

On a Friday night, Matt rolled his poor truck into the driveway with a couple partial flats and multiple screws and nails in his tires. I offered to get his truck to Tire Rack in the morning since he had to work. Once we filled the now completely flat tire, we hobbled to the Tire Rack garage. While we waiting, we explored and had ourselves a little field trip!

Happy Mother's Day to Me!

Some mom's have breakfast in bed. I just get kids in bed!

Family Fun!

April provided us with some decent weather and some not so decent weather. With the decent weather, we had a fire pit and roasted Peeps, played at the park and blew bubbles. With the not so decent weather, we took a trip to the old Holiday Inn in LaPorte for a little one night 'vacation' :)

Happy 5th Birthday (5th? Really?) Carolyn Mae'by!

Since we went to AG already, we had just a small celebration at home for Carolyn's birthday. She invited her BFF, Audree, over for dinner and cake and we had a nice little evening.

Park City, Utah!

Tire Rack recently became a sponsor of the USSA and we were offered a chance at a VIP trip for two to Park City, Utah for 3 nights. Included was lodging, lift tickets, meals, ski rentals, happy hour, and VIP access to the events. After Matt said he didn't care too much about going, I called Sven. He was in. I put my name in and won! Sven bought our plane tickets with his mileage and we had the most amazing free vacation!

As we checked in and received our VIP package (Burton ski jacket, backpack, hat, shirt, pins, knitting kits, wool socks, snacks, etc) we were invited to tour the course in the morning. Not wanting to be a bad representative of Tire Rack, we accepted. Then we took off for our first 1/2 day of skiing.

We reported at 9am for the dreaded course tour. OMG! The tour was amazing. We skied to the starting gates then skied down the course (at a very controlled speed). We checked the the audio/video booth, viewed the jumps and turns close up, and left with a true appreciation for the skiers and snowboarders who race down it at 45 mph.

The rest of our vacation went a little like this: ski, VIP lunch, watch ski event, ski, happy hour, sleep, ski, VIP lunch, watch snowboard event, ski, happy hour, sleep, home.

I LOVED my welcome home sign so much, I left it up for weeks!
