Memorial Day Weekend

The majority of our Memorial Day weekend was spent with family. We enjoyed a couple cookouts, did some garage sale'ing, walked to the farmers market, took in a few hours at the beach, and enjoyed the parade in Buchanan. On top of all this fun, Matt spend about 9 hour putting up trim in the basement. He's pushing to have that complete by July 4th.

Back the fun stuff. Sunday was a beautifully warm, rather hot, day. So we joined the thousands of other beach go'ers at Warren Dunes. Grandpa Buddy, Jaja and Brody joined us. While the water was ice cold, the breeze made the beach quit enjoyable. And the kid had a blast. Hank couldn't believe the amounts of sand to play in.

 Our 'Little Mermaid'

Monday's Memorial Day parade was a huge hit with each kid. All for different reasons. Eleanor loved it because she got to walk the route with her t-ball team and throw candy and wave at friends.

Carolyn loved it because she got to catch the thrown candy. And her stash of 'sucker/candy' back home was near depletion.

And Hank loved the parade because of all the tractors. He L-O-V-E, loves tractors. Loves playing with toy tractors, reading books about tractors, riding with daddy on the lawn tractor, spotting tractors in fields. He just can't get enough tractors.

I love this picture of Hank! If you look at his lips you can see him saying "More tractor." Which he's saying over and over while signing "more" as all the tractors drive past.

Happy Mother's Day to Me!

I probably say it every year, actually I know I do. But this was the best Mother's Day ever! The weather was fantastic. Perfect for transplanting a couple shrubs to make way for my new variegated boxwoods, courtesy of my loving husband and children! After the boxwoods were in place, Hank and I took a nap (Wow! That felt so good!). And then it was back to work, creating herb gardens for the grandmas and then edging the sidewalk.

The girls made planter picture frames at Lowes then brought them home to paint for me.

My new boxwoods (they also bought me a nice double hanging plant hook)

The kids were excited to help. Well, Eleanor and Hank were. I think Carolyn was inside watching 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' for the 6th time in as many days.

 The finished product! Love it!

Hank was the man. Picking up stick, rocks, worms. Whatever he could fit in his tiny green wagon. That boy can't get enough outside and dirt. At the end of the day, you can see on his face that he had a great day too!

Blog to Book

I turned my first 4 years of blogging into 4 hardcover books! Yay for me! I love them. And so does Eleanor! I love it :)

Flower Power (and Rocks)

I had fun watching the kids from the front porch swing. That has to be my favorite spot. The other day they picked flowers, ran through the yard, and even looked for interesting rocks. Exciting? No, probably not. Worth a blog post? Hells to the yeah! Every little innocent activity the three of those kids do together is wonderful.

Our Budding Artist

Carolyn has become an amazingly good artist. And when I say artist, I mean master of coloring inside the lines and stick figure drawings. Seriously, she really does a great job. Her stick figures CRACK ME UP!!!
