June

June was the start of summer for us. We enjoyed great weather and the end of the school year. It also marked the beginning of working nice 8 hour days thus leaving work at 3pm every day. The amount of sanity to be gained with just an extra 1.5 hours a day is tremendous. I love my kids and now feel like I'm able to spend a little quality time with them during the week. We've been taking advantage of the extra time with bike rides, library visits, quick jaunts to the beach and pool time.

The first part of the month allowed us a little time with Maddux and Nash. Sven and Charity went on a cruise and my dad and step mom brought the boys in from Kansas City for the week.

The boys and cuz Brody came to Buchanan to watch Eleanor's t-ball game

A sad thing happened in June. My harddrive was fried and I love all my pictures from 2011-2012. I was so upset. And started crying nearly histarically when I realized I lost all the pictures from Hank's birth. I was crying to Matt that "I lost all my pictures of Hank". Shortly after Carolyn brought me this picture below and said, "Here Mommy. Here's a picture of you and Hank since you lost all your other one." Wow, what a sweet little girl!
My failed attempt for a last day of school photo

On Father's Day, we went to the Round Barn Winery for beer, sangria, lemonades, music and wiffleball!

My sweet, shy, little Carolyn had a rough time at soccer camp. But only on the first day. She rocked it out and stuck with it, getting better each day. I was so proud of her!

Eleanor really impressed me!

Lots of family fun: tire swing, Warren Dunes beach, and Yahtzee!

My Favorite Instagram

We woke up one weekend morning to a gorgeous day. I took my coffee and phone outside and captured my very favorite Instagram photo thus far. I wish Eleanor was in it, too.

End of Preschool for Carolyn

Carolyn asked Hank and I to join her on her end of preschool year field trip to the Potowatomi Zoo.

Carolyn had a great school year. She had a perfect final period report card and scored over a 90% on her Kindergarten Brigance test! Her teachers, Miss Fuller and Miss Shaner, just loved her. She loved them too, so much that she and her friend Audree cried as Miss Fuller left the room on the last day.

Tire Rack Field Trip

On a Friday night, Matt rolled his poor truck into the driveway with a couple partial flats and multiple screws and nails in his tires. I offered to get his truck to Tire Rack in the morning since he had to work. Once we filled the now completely flat tire, we hobbled to the Tire Rack garage. While we waiting, we explored and had ourselves a little field trip!
