Go Green - Catalog Mailings

You've all heard it or seen the big push to go green. In my latest effort to save the world, I found a website called http://www.catalogchoice.org/ which offers a free service to stop unwanted catalogs from cluttering your mailbox. If you're like me, you made a Christmas or birthday purchase from some online store. Now you're on their mailing list and you don't even like their product and immediately toss out the catalog. Or maybe you like the product but prefer to do your shopping online. Or maybe you're just all about going green and will due without to save some trees.

Matt made mention of all the catalogs the other day when a copy of Latina magazine showed up for me. I have no idea how I got on that mailing list, but I did. Unfortunately it's not one of the mailings I can opt out of with the above service, but it's what got me thinking about this. That and the Eastbay catalog which seems to show up almost weekly. So I just signed up and opted out of a few mailings - we'll see what happens.

That is such a great idea! We, too, get the Eastbay catalog often and I don't think we've ever ordered anything from them. I always feel guilty just dumping them right into the trash. I will have to check this site out!
